Any NASCAR fan who has watched every race this season can tell you Kevin Harvick has by far been the most consistent driver. The 2014 champion hasn’t captured a win since March, but has been in contention for a win in nearly every race.
In fact, he’s led 134 laps in the last two events and come away with top-three finishes in both. Through 20 events this season, Harvick has a staggering 14 top-five results. In a race where only 160 laps will be ran, having a driver that nearly guarantees a great finish is huge.
Oh, then let’s just throw in the fact that he compiled 84.5 points at Pocono earlier this season. This isn’t just based on his season results, though, as Harvick has two top-two results since moving over to Stewart-Haas Racing at Pocono.
That’s not quite as special as Dale Earnhardt Jr. sweeping the Tricky Triangle last year, but Harvick looked much better than Junior earlier this season.
Boasting over 70 fantasy points in three of his last four races, the SHR driver promises to put up great numbers again on Sunday. With Kyle Busch and Earnhardt likely being the two most popular drivers this week, Harvick serves as a promising dose of variance for owners.
