Kyle Larson has never won a race in his career. In fact, he’s only compiled eight top-five finishes during his two years with Chip-Ganassi Racing.
But in two races at New Hampshire, the 22-year-old driver has an average finish of 2.5. After leading 14 laps in last summer’s race at Loudon, he fell just short with a third-place result. He then followed that up with a top-two finish during the Chase.
His last two weeks have been, well, horrendous in fantasy. With a -36 pass differential over that span, much of those struggles are due to his strong starting positions. If Larson gains another pole like he did last week, we might want to rethink this choice.
However, there is no track where Larson has been more consistent than Loudon. Carrying a driver rating of 99.1 into Sunday’s race, the No. 42 will be challenging for the lead and definitely put together his second top five of this season.
Barring any technical issues on the track or pit road problems, Larson will be more than worth his $10,000 price tag on DraftKings. Expect great results from the CGR sophomore as a solid No. 2 option in lineups.
