The 2015 Sprint Cup regular season is winding down, so pressure is firmly applied on drivers currently outside of the Chase. In the case of those inside the top 30 in points, the easiest way to get in is with a win.
Kyle Larson may have little experience at road courses, but the opportunity is certainly there for the sophomore driver. Following a fourth-place finish at Watkins Glen last season after starting 23rd, Larson is a great bargain for DraftKings owners on Sunday.
The 23-year-old driver certainly hasn’t lived up to the hype this season thus far, but has rounded back into form recently. In his last two races, Larson has a top 10 at Indianapolis and finished 12th at Pocono. That’s equated to an average of 40 fantasy points over that span.
Heading to the Glen, it’s tough to find drivers around the middle of the price sheet that can put up high point totals. Even with limited experience, owners who choose Larson at least get a driver capable of pulling off a top five at just $7,500.
He may not have the same numbers on the season as a driver like Kevin Harvick or Kyle Busch, but Larson provides great value in any lineup. With the pressure ratcheted up, look for Larson to challenge the top road-course drivers on Sunday for his spot in the Chase.
