Fans of daily fantasy may remember a prediction back in July about Dale Earnhardt Jr. being worth the absurd price on DraftKings at Daytona. They’ll also remember he happened to drive to Victory Lane that same week.
Is NASCAR back at a restrictor-plate track? Yes. Is Earnhardt desperate for a win? Yes. So what should DraftKings owners do with this knowledge? Rinse, wash and repeat.
Not only has Earnhardt blistered the rest of the field over the last two superspeedway races, but he was one slip up away from sweeping all three thus far. Had he not dropped like a rock after looking for drafting help during the Daytona 500, it might have been Junior partying in Victory Lane instead of Joey Logano.
Why should owners have so much confidence in a driver whose last two finishes were 21st and 28th? Because Junior still has swagger getting behind the wheel at ‘Dega.

Crew chief Greg Ives and the Hendrick Motorsports crew have built an unstoppable machine that has already conquered Talladega once. After finishing third in the final race of the Challenger Round to advance, expect Earnhardt to triumph at a track where he has six wins to advance again.
The price may be excessive, but Junior has led at least 25 laps in the last four races at Talladega. Suffice to say, he’ll be out front on Sunday. And with the speed in that No. 88 machine, owners can expect a huge payday with Earnhardt at the top of their lineups.
