Not every course is created equal, and not every driver succeeds at each style of track. But for Clint Bowyer, his road course racing has helped him become a household name in NASCAR.
He has just four top-10 finishes this season, so Bowyer doesn’t typically seem like a strong choice on DraftKings. But with his recent crew chief swap came a top 10 before the break and will have a second straight on Sunday.
Over his career at Sonoma, Bowyer has registered five top-five finishes in nine starts and four consecutive top 10s. He’s also compiled a driver rating of 94.9 and an average finish of 9.22. Simply put, Sonoma is his best track, and only Homestead-Miami comes close.
On Friday, Bowyer flexed some of his muscle at the road course during practice by finishing at the top of the leaderboard.

Holding onto one win at Sonoma—he only has eight in 340 Sprint Cup starts—his best chance to secure a spot in the Chase is Sunday afternoon. At a price of just $8,900 on DraftKings, that’s a steal for a driver who should contend for a win at Sonoma.
