Tuesday was a day of optimism for NASCAR with Danica Patrick signing a new deal with Nature’s Bakery and Stewart-Haas Racing. Wednesday brought the NASCAR community to a grinding halt.
Michael Waltrip Racing announced that it is releasing Clint Bowyer following the 2015 season. The team will also move to a part-time schedule with the No. 15 and 55 machines. No drivers have been identified yet for those cars.
Bowyer’s next endeavor has not been announced yet either, but speculation is already beginning that he might land with a powerhouse team. Regardless of his next landing spot, it still leaves MWR in flux, which leaves drivers and the NASCAR community emotional.
Here’s a look at the reactions from around the sport following MWR’s announcement.

No matter how you feel about MWR and its history, today’s news is tough to hear. Feel for those who have put heart and soul into that shop.

So sad for all of my friends @MWRteam. I know they will fight to the end.
