Coming off a huge win at Sonoma, Tony Stewart will pay tribute to another NASCAR legend this weekend at Daytona during the Coke Zero 400.
During his final race at Daytona, Smoke will wear a helmet emblazoned with Dale Earnhardt’s face and signature sunglasses on Saturday night. Rodney Childers, Kevin Harvick’s crew chief, shared an image of the special helmet on Twitter.

On the back of the midnight black helmet reads “No fire could burn his character, no stone could break it,” a quote from Dale Earnhardt Jr. prior to his father’s passing. Earnhardt died after a wreck on the last lap of the 2001 Daytona 500 as fellow DEI driver Michael Waltrip drove to victory with Junior coming in second.
Stewart has won the July race four times in his career, but never won the Daytona 500 in his career. After a resurgence in the last two races at Michigan and Sonoma, Smoke fans hope to see a performance similar to the Intimidator at Daytona on Saturday night.
