After the 2015 season, Jeff Gordon will no longer get behind the wheel of the No. 24 machine for Hendrick Motorsports. We’re all coping with this loss on the track in our own way, but Gordon’s sponsors have found a unique way to honor the legendary driver.
Pepsi, who has came out with creative advertisements for Gordon in the past, made sure to send him off the right way.
Similar to the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s tribute to Gordon, Pepsi decided to dig way back into his past. Whether it’s the highlights of the quarter-midgets, Gordon hoisting his first championship trophy or his long luscious locks from the 90’s, something in this video is bound to give every NASCAR fan chills.
Next season, Gordon will exit the No. 24 Chevrolet for a spot in the Fox Sports booth. Meanwhile, Chase Elliott will take over his seat in the Sprint Cup Series with NAPA taking over as his primary sponsor.
But Gordon isn’t done just yet.
With a spot in the Chase still locked in heading to Kansas, Gordon is hoping to go out on a high note. Currently seventh on the Chase Grid, the Hendrick driver is just above the cut line for the third round. Able to shake the added attention all season, it should be interesting to see how Gordon wraps up his illustrious career with just six races remaining.
