Cole Pearn made his return to the track at Auto Club Speedway after serving a suspension on Sunday. He quickly returned to the headlines on the same evening, calling out Joey Logano after the Auto Club 400.
The Team Penske driver drove up on Martin Truex Jr., sending him into the wall late in the race. Truex had a shot at winning, asking his crew “What in the hell was he doing?” after slamming into the wall.
While it didn’t appear Logano actually made contact with Truex, Pearn clearly thought the No. 22 driver was in the wrong. Following the race, the Furniture Row Racing crew chief spit straight fire at Logano.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. took notice of the tweet and responded appropriately.
Let’s just say it’s probably a good thing NASCAR has the week off for Easter break. When the action returns, Truex and Pearn’s retaliation could be interesting. After all, Logano knows all about other drivers taking action after feeling robbed by him.
