The first road course race of the year is taking place at Sonoma Raceway, and Martin Truex Jr.’s day already came to an abrupt end. Truex was coming around a turn when David Ragan brushed up against him and sent him careening into a tire wall.

Ragan and Truex were racing hard when it appeared the No. 55 machine got fed up and dumped the No. 78 into the tire wall. Ragan stayed on the track while Truex had to simply voice his frustration in the garage.

Luckily for Truex, he already has a spot in the Chase secured with his win at Pocono. He’ll also remain near the top of the points standings after taking 14 top 10s in the first 15 races.

But with a win at Sonoma back in 2013, it’s a frustrating result for Truex and the entire Furniture Row Racing team. NASCAR returns to Daytona next weekend, so Truex can start a new streak of top 10s after starting the year with one in the Daytona 500.
