Landon Cassill has carved out a niche in NASCAR with both fans and sponsors for his intense workout regimen and endurance. With so many questions from those outside of the sport about the physical nature of Sprint Cup races, Cassill decided to do a “science experiment” to prove just how much weight drivers lose.

The results were insane.

Over the course of 400 miles at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Cassill dropped a full eight pounds even with fluids throughout the Brickyard 400. He broke down the results on Twitter following the race.

Sponsored by Snap Fitness, Cassill previously made headlines for running to the NASCAR Hall of Fame after the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He also participated in an Ironman competition in between a combined 700 miles at Kentucky Speedway earlier in July.

Cassill is living proof that NASCAR drivers are, in fact, true athletes.
