It’s not the first time, and it certainly won’t be the last. But the paint scheme that Jimmie Johnson and the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports team unveiled earlier this week is certainly the best looking edition they’ve rolled out for Charlotte.

Hendrick also released a video highlighting how the new look was put together.

Johnson, who recently won his third race of the season at Kansas, is the latest driver to release a new paint scheme for the Sprint All-Star race on Saturday night. Dale Earnhardt Jr. previously showed off a new Baja Blast look for the All-Star race.

Unlike his teammate, Johnson is also set to use the same scheme during the Coca-Cola 600 during the following week. With the race coming the day before Memorial Day, it holds a special place for Johnson.

“The pre-race photos that take place on Memorial Day weekend, the guys parachuting in, and I am standing there in my fire suit that is basically an American flag, there are some cool moments that come with that,” Johnson said.

With seven wins in points races and four victories in the All-Star race, there’s a great chance that patriotic scheme will be burning out near chicken bone alley over the next two weeks.
