A normal pit stop turned into a terrifying incident for Brendan Gaughan and his pit crew.
During the Xfinity race at Richmond on Friday night, a fire flared up near the left rear tire and brushed back several members of his crew. SB Nation provides a look at the massive flames that erupted from Gaughan’s car:
In the midst of the blaze was rear-tire changer Anthony O’Brien and gas man Josh Wittman, who were attended to following the incident with burns. O’Brien was seen sitting upright before being taken to the care center at the track.
.@Brendan62‘s rear-tire changer, Anthony O’Brien, gives a “thumbs up” as he is taken to the care center for a checkup. Glad everyone is ok!
