Save for a faceplant on pit row, Denny Hamlin’s pit crew member did everything possible to stop an uncontrolled tire from rolling away at Richmond on Sunday. However, the tire continued to runaway like a small child trying to escape their parents.

It didn’t work, but it made for a hilarious video.

Hamlin would fall one lap down after the incident for a penalty on an uncontrolled tire that rolled into another pit box.  He would get that spot back on the next caution and had the No. 11 near the top 10 by the midway point in the race.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver already has a win this season at the Daytona 500, so his team doesn’t have to be worried about making the Chase. But with three top-five finishes this season, recovering from the issue would be a huge boost in the points standings.
