A.J. Allmendinger is an athlete with many talents—and not all of them are on the track.
The JTG Daugherty Racing driver spent time on Tuesday hanging out with the staff at Bristol Motor Speedway doing interviews and helping build followers on their Twitter account with his awesomeness.
Then, before he left the track, Allmendinger apparently played a little golf. At a track known as “Thunder Valley,” “The Bullring” and “The Last Great Colosseum,” there were know fairways or putting greens.
So, Dinger just made up his own tee box: Off the top of the grandstands.
To complete his round of golf at Bristol, Allmendinger then finished up with track general manager Jerry Caldwell with a putt from Victory Lane. He made it under a Chevrolet Camaro, but narrowly missed the hole on the other side.
Currently sitting outside of the Chase Grid, Allmendinger needs a win to make NASCAR’s postseason. A return to Victory Lane on Aug. 22—sans the putter—would be the perfect cure for the JTG driver.
