The Chase for the Sprint Cup brings on some massive pressure to perform. Unfortunately, it also leads to huge repercussions if accidents occur on the track.
On Sunday, with both Kurt Busch and Brad Keselowski competing for a win, the two drivers sustained heavy damage during a late-race wreck with only 62 laps remaining. Both are part of only eight drivers still remaining in the Chase with championship hopes alive.
Matt Kenseth, who was eliminated from the Chase last weekend, was part of the initial contact. Kes spun out the No. 20 machine, sparking a huge wreck that will be costly for both Busch and Keselowski with only two races remaining in the Eliminator Round.
Luckily for both drivers, Carl Edwards was involved in a wreck earlier in the race. However, he was able to get back on the lead lap after the caution for Keselowski, Busch and Kenseth’s wreck.
