The NASCAR world is experiencing a baby boom like never before. Just weeks after both Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski became fathers, Kasey Kahne is set to join them as a daddy in the garage in October.

Kahne and girlfriend Sam Sheets revealed they are expecting a baby boy on Oct. 10, according to Marty Smith of ESPN. It’s a huge announcement, especially for female fans of Blue Eyes holding out hope of being his baby mama.

NASCAR Wonka put the emotions into perspective for Kahne’s female following:

“I’ve always really wanted a kid. Absolutely,” Kahne told Smith. “When I was growing up, I thought I’d have kids by the time I was 25. We’re 10 years past that now, of course. But once we found out, I realized how badly I wanted kids.

“It’s something that’s been on my mind for a long time. I’m really excited to have this type of life-changing experience, and I can’t wait to be the best dad I can possibly be.”

Much like Busch and Keselowski’s baby boys, Kahne’s first child will also likely be born around a race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Sheets’ due date is on the same day as the Bank of America 500, a night race at CMS.

Kahne has grown as a driver, but also as a person during his career. Now ready to take on fatherhood with Sheets by his side, Kahne spoke about how his maturity has prepared him for having a full family.

“I still feel like I look at things and think about things in a similar way to how I have for a while,” Kahne said. “But I do feel like I’ve matured a lot, and I understand how many different ways there are to do anything you want to do. There’s not just one way. And I feel like I’m way more open and relaxed and mature to life, what it throws at you, racing, family, friends, whatever.”

While some of his fan base might still be in shock, others can show support already by helping out with the baby registry. Just don’t get too many tears on the keyboard, y’all.
