Joey Logano, Danica Patrick involved in first Coke Zero 400 wreck

After over three hours of waiting, it took just three laps for the first huge wreck.

David Gilliland spun out, collecting Joey Logano, Danica Patrick and several other drivers at Daytona International Speedway. Gilliland made contact with Clint Bowyer after attempting to move to the inside line. It didn’t go swimmingly—pun intended—for the No. 38 machine.

In total, nine cars were involved in the accident with Gilliland and Logano sustaining the worst damage. Logano went to the pits to repair the damage and was black flagged after heading to the track with heavy damage. Patrick jumped right back in with the lead draft after the wreck, with little impact on her car.
