Erik Jones led the first and final lap, battling for the top spot on two crucial restarts to earn his first Xfinity Series win of the season. Thanks to winning the pole and the opening heat race, Jones also claimed the first Dash 4 Cash check of $100,000 for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Jones battled Kyle Larson after the final restart with just five laps remaining before fighting off Kyle Busch for the win. Busch, who claimed the previous four NASCAR-sanctioned races, came away with a second-place result ahead of Larson after the two traded off the lead much of the race.

“It was a great day overall for us,” Jones said. “Beating the 18 and 42 is a really big day for us. Pretty cool to be the first Xfinity regular to get a win.

“At the end of the day, there’s only one lap you want to lead. And we led it.”

Prior to the main event, Jones led from wire-to-wire in the opening heat race to easily rout the field, which included both Larson and Busch. Austin Dillon, who owned the second heat race, finished fourth with Justin Allgaier taking fifth.

Ty Dillon was the fourth driver across the line of the Dash 4 Cash eligible drivers in seventh. The Richard Childress Racing driver voiced his frustration following the race.

“We had a great race, this place is just so hard to do anything if you’re not on the front row,” Ty Dillon said. “It was definitely frustrating because we had a much better car than that. I’m not upset, but I just hate I couldn’t get the finish we deserved for this team.”
